US delegation pays a visit to the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration

Nancy Izzo Jackson, Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration of the U.S. Department of State, visited yesterday the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration.

The U.S. delegation led by Ms Jackson also comprised Jerry Kalarickal, Programme Officer for the Balkans in the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration, Sam Healy, Regional Coordinator for Refugees and Aida Kuric, Specialist for Refugee Issue at the U.S. Embassy in Serbia.

The delegation was received by the Commissioner for Refugees and Migration Mr Vladimir Cucic, together with Ms Svetlana Velimirovic, Deputy Commissioner and Ms Danijela Popovic Rocco, Assistant Commissioner.

Commissioner Cucic presented the results achieved in the implementation of the RHP as well as other activities that the Commissariat is in charge of. These include issues such as the increased influx of migrants in the Republic of Serbia, the situation in the field of readmission of Serbian citizens from countries of the EU, and the assistance that the Republic of Serbia provides to the internally displaced persons from Kosovo.

Nancy Izzo Jackson showed great interest in the migration management of the Republic of Serbia and commended the results achieved in the RHP implementation, as well as the actions taken by the Republic of Serbia during the migrant crisis which started in the middle of last year.
