The Commissioner for Refugees, Mr. Dragisa Dabetic, stated on the occasion of the forthcoming parlamentary elections in Croatia that are to be held on 24 and 25 November, that all Croatian citizens residing in the territory of Serbia will be able to exercise their right to vote.

Dabetic announced that citizens will be able to vote in seven towns, and there will be several polling stations, including Zemun, with other polling stations located in Vojvodina – in Subotica, Sombor, Indjija, Sremska Mitrovica, Pancevo etc. One polling station will be located in Janjevo in Kosovo. Voting will last for two days – on 24 and 25 November at 14 polling stations, even though voting in Croatia will be held only on 25 November. All potential voters must register not later than 10 November. They have to fill in the registration form as well as to provide photocopies of their IDs or passport with an address, and they can do this at the diplomatic mission and consular office of Croatia in Belgrade and Subotica, refugee associations as well as in every municipality in Serbia through trustees. Free transportation for all people who are willing to vote but do not live in places where the polling stations are located is to be provided, Dabetic said. Those who want to vote in Croatia will be able to vote at the ninth polling unit covering the following districts: Lika-Senj district, Zadar district and Sibenik-Knin district. Free transportation will be organized for them, too, and they will start journey on Friday evening, 23 November, and leave Croatia on Sunday at 7 o’clock p.m. You can apply for organized transportation to northern Dalmatia at the Democratic Initiative for Knin (Belgrade, Lomina Street 4), while all interested in Lika can apply at the Croatian Serbs Association (Belgrade, Decanska Street 8).
