Tenants moved into the apartment buildings constructed within UN HABITAT project

The ceremony of social housing units key-delivery in “Avala” settlement was held in Kragujevac on 16 January, 2008, built within “Settlement and Integration of Refugees Programme” (SIRP) in Serbia.

 

Apart from the Mayor, Mr. Veroljub Stevanovic, on behalf of the donor HE the Ambassador of the Republic of Italy, Mr. Alessandro Merola, the Ministry for Infrastructure State Secretary, Mr. Milan Miljevic, addressed the guests and housing units’ tenants, representatives of UN HABITAT, UNHCR, the Commissariat for Refugees of the Republic of Serbia and housing agencies of the municipalities where the apartment buildings within this programme are being built as well as other guests.

 

Two apartment buildings in the settlement have been technically approved and the keys of the housing units were delivered to 59 families, while 17 families are to move into the third apartment building once it is technically approved. Out of 76 housing units, 61 are for refugee families and 15 for socially vulnerable domicile population.
