Thanks to the HOD (Humanitarian Organization Divac) campaign “You can too”, Vladic family, which fled from Croatia in 1995, got its home in Kuplin. The campaign was implemented in cooperation with the Commissariat for Refugees of the Republic of Serbia and UNHCR, as well as with an Italian NGO, INTERSOS. So far the Vladics, father Veljko, mother Mirjana and their fifteen-year-old daughter Dijana have lived in the collective center “Vitko and Saveta” in Gadzin Han, and yesterday they became the owners of a 99-square-meter house and a 10-acre plot of land. There are some additional facilities in the garden for cattle and chicken breeding. No one in the family is full-time employed; the mother is a housewife and Veljko works as a construction worker. According to INTERSOS coordinator, this donation, which solved Vladic’a housing problem, amounted to RSD 560, 000 and in addition the family got furniture of value RSD 80, 000.

„So far collected funding is sufficient for the purchase  of one hundred houses, and that’s going to be realized in the next few months. In addition it is necessary over 500 houses for providing durable housing solutions for families who live in collective centers. The campaign is to be continued until we collect the remaining funds” the president of Divac Humanitarian Organization (HOD), Mrs. Snezana Divac during the visit to Vladic familiy, highlighting that if every municipality would provide only three houses for refugees, who still live in collective centers in Serbia, their housing problems would be solved. She urged all the people of good will to help as much as they can, as all of them deserved to live a dignified life.
