The selection of the beneficiaries of social housing units in protected conditions was completed in Kruševac, Zaječar, Doljevac, Sremska Mitrovica and Medveđa
The final lists by order of priority were confirmed today for 62 housing units intended for refugees and internally displaced persons

Kruševac completed the process of selecting the beneficiaries of social housing in protected conditions and has confirmed the final list of priority for 10 housing units; precisely:  8 housing units set aside for refugees, internally displaced persons and families currently residing in inadequate private accommodations; 2 housing units intended for the local, socially vulnerable persons and families. The project is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Germany in cooperation with the Commissariat for Refugees of the Republic of Serbia, while the construction itself was undertaken by the ASB with the assistance and support of the city of Kruševac which provided the location and the related supporting infrastructure.

Zaječar completed the process of selecting the beneficiaries of social housing in protected conditions and has confirmed the final list of priority for 16 housing units; precisely: 13 housing units for refugees and internally displaced persons, families from Collective Centres and inadequate private accomodation, as well as 3 housing units intended for the local, socially vulnerable persons and families. The project is being funded by the resources of the European Union through the Delegation of the European Commission in the Republic of Serbia, in cooperation with the Commissariat for Refugees of the Republic of Serbia. The building of the housing units was undertaken by the Italian Humanitarian Organization for Emergency Situations, Mission in the Republic of Serbia (INTERSOS), with the assistance of the city of Zaječar which provided the location and the related supporting infrastructure.

The municipality of Doljevac has completed the process of selecting the beneficiaries of social housing in protected conditions and is in the process of finalizing the list of priority for 10 housing units; precisely: 8 housing units for refugees, internally displaced persons, families from Collective Centres and inadequate private accomodation, as well as 2 housing units for the local, socially vulnerable persons and families. The project is being funded using the resources of the European Union through the Delegation of the European Commission in the Republic of Serbia, in cooperation with the Commissariat for Refugees of the Republic of Serbia, while the construction of the housing units was undertaken by INTERSOS, with the assistance of the municipality Doljevac which provided the location for the build site as well as the supporting infrastructure.

Sremska Mitrovica has completed the selection of the beneficiaries of social housing in protected conditions and has finalized the list of priority concerning 34 housing units; precisely: 27 housing units intended for refugees, internally displaced persons, families living in inadequate private accomodation and 7 housing units for the local, socially vulnerable persons and families. The project is being funded by the resources of the European Union through the Delegation of the European Commission in the Republic of Serbia in cooperation with the Commissariat for Refugees of the Republic of Serbia, while the construction of the housing units was undertaken by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), with the assistance of the city which provided the location for the build site as well as the supporting infrastructure.

The municipality of Medveđa has completed the selection of beneficiaries of social housing in protected conditions and has finalized the list of priority concerning the allocation of 8 housing units; precisely: 6 housing units intended for refugees, internally displaced persons and families living in inadequate private accommodation, as well as 2 housing units intended for the local, socially vulnerable persons and families. The project is being funded by the resource of the European Union through the Delegation of the European Commission in the Republic of Serbia, in cooperation with the Commissariat for Refugees of the Republic of Serbia, while the construction of the housing units is being undertaken by the ASB, with the assistance of the municipality of Medveđa which has provided the location for the build site as well as the supporting infrastructure.

Underway is the procurement of the appropriate and necessary licenses for the construction of housing units and the sourcing of materials in order that the relocation of the most vulnerable beneficiaries  (households and families whose members suffer from medical problems, single parent families and elderly persons – refugees, internally displaced persons and socially vulnerable persons as well as persons from the local population, of 78 ( 62 for refugees and internally displaced persons and families from Collective Centres and / or inadequate private accommodation, and 16 for local socially vulnerable persons) of the newly built housing units intended for social housing in protected conditions might officially be concluded in July and August of this year.
