Vranje held the fourth work meeting in relation to the rights and obligations of returnees

On the 22nd and 23rd of July, a work meeting intended for the purpose of training the members of the municipal council for migration as well as the representatives of  local agencies and organizations who themselves are to be engaged in the resolution of the problems facing returnees, was held in the city of Vranje.

 

The work meetings are a component of the pilot project, “Support for the Reintegration of Returnees based on the Readmission Agreements,” endorsed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation – SDC.

 

The purpose of the work meeting was to familiarise the local agencies with the legal and institutional framework, the activities of the competent authorities of the Ministry, the role of the Council for the integration of returnees, the role of the Strategy Implementation Team for the reintegration of returnees, as well as to the rights, duties and problems of returnees.

 

Informational materials were presented and the printing of new information booklets was announced; the information booklets are concerned with both returnees and those entrusted with their reception upon their arrival.

 

Owing to this project, the aforementioned informational material will be made available in a number of foreign languages and will be printed in sufficient quantities. 

 

Similar work shops were also held in the cities of Knjaževac, Vršac and Kruševac.

 

The work shops were attended by the representatives the offices of the Trustee for Information of Public Importance, who presented to those in attendance the law concerning the protection of personal information.  Speaking on the topic in question was the trustee for information Mr. Marinko Radić as well as the deputy trustee for information of public importance Mr. Aleksandar Resanović.

 

The Commissariat for Refugees will through this project and thanks to the efforts of its trustees come into possession of the practical, applicable knowledge concerning returnees; i.e. where they are located, what are their current living conditions, how have they managed inside of Serbia since their return.

 

Information pertaining to the aforementioned, alongside information concerning the other activities planned by this project, will be made available to the public upon completion of the project’s pilot phase.
