An agreement of cooperation was signed in reference to the construction of housing units intended for use as social housing in protected conditions within the municipality of Kovin

3rd September 2010 – An agreement of cooperation was signed in Kovin amongst the representatives of the Commissariat for Refugees of the Republic of Serbia, the representatives of the Kovin Centre for Social Work and the Danish Refugee Council which effectively provisions for the construction of 15 housing units within the framework of the IPA 2008 project. The signing ceremony was attended by:  the representative and president of the municipality of Kovin Mr. Slavko Branković, the representative and advisor of the Commissariat for Refugees Mr.  Petar Anđić, the director of the Centre for Social Work of the municipality of Kovin Mrs. Milče Milutinov, and the project coordinator and representative of the Danish Refugee Council Mrs. Verica Rečević.

The agreement provisions for the construction of 15 housing units intended for use as social housing in protected conditions, of which 12 are intended for the housing of refugees from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with internally displaced persons from Kosovo and Metohija, of which the priority in relation to the housing will be had by those families of refugees and internally displaced persons currently being housed in the Collective centres of Čardak and nove kućice in Deliblato. Three housing units are intended for persons considered as being socially vulnerable as well as for families from the local community. The finances allocated to the project in question are provided by the European Union through the Delegation of the European Union in the Republic of Serbia, while the project itself if being implemented by the Danish Council for Refugees. The municipality of Kovin will provide technical and financial support in the form of a land to be used for construction, technically equiping the aforementioned as well being engaged in the maintanance of the building.
The agreement in question has been approved by the Primary court of  Pančevo – judicial branch of Kovin.
