Thursday the 16th of December 2010 – The Vice President of the Government of the Republic of Serbia Dr. Jovan Krkobabić, is set to present to the municipal representatives and majors of some 60 municipalities/cities in the Republic of Serbia, certificates referring to the bestowment of economic assistance intended for use in the process of integrating refugees and improving the living conditions of internally displaced persons.  

The resources in question, amounting to 600.000 euros in total, have been provisioned out of the budget of the Republic of Serbia and will make possible the acquisition of 120 packages of building materials intended to assist in the completion of commenced works as well as the adaptation of inadequate housing units, and will also provide for the allocation of some 145 packages of economic assistance intended for refugee and internally displaced persons.

The ceremony itself is to be attended by the representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia, the UNHCR, the OSCE, the Commissariat for Refugees as well as numerous other representatives of the relevant institutions of the Republic of Serbia and AP Vojvodina.

The ceremony is to be held in the, “Belgrade,” hall of the Palace of Serbia, Mihajla Pupina no. 2 starting at 11 am.
