The tender for the allocation of small economic grants to refugee and internally displaced persons for the city of Kragujevac was opened

Kragujevac, 2nd of March 2011 – in early March in Kragujevac, Group 484 opened the tender for the allocation of small economic grants to refugee and internally displaced persons for the city of Kragujevac, intended to for those individuals wishing to start a sole proprietorship or  further develop their existing business.  The economic grants are intended exclusively for those families which have already registered their occupational endeavours or have demonstrated a definite intent to do so.  The Project intends to provide 20 refugee and internally displaced families with equipment and the necessary machinery in order to commence those activities, which in turn will contribute to the economic self-sufficiency of their families.  Through this project, Group 484 aims at supporting those activities and occupational ideas which are sustainable and to further support cross cooperation between and communal integration of refugee and internally displaced persons into social institutions and communities.  In order this to be achieved, Group 484 over the course of February and March in Kragujevac organized a presentation of a model of social institutions and communities; presentations which were attended by refugee and displaced persons as also by institutional representatives.

The tender is to be opened from the 2nd of  March and is to last until the 1st of April.  Those interested in applying for this form of assistance can obtain more detailed information, as well as the question form requisit for applying on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the premises of the Business Start – Up Centre, Dr. Zorana Đinđića no. 10, 6th floor, Kragujevac.  The application form (question form) can also be sourced from the website of Group 484: www.grupa484.org.rs as also from the website of the Business Start – Up Centre: www.bsckragujevac.rs (for additional information please call the following numbers: 034/333-492 and 034/330-651).

Group 484, an association from Belgrade is implemnting on the territory of the city of Kragujevac, activities linked to the Project, “Support to Refugee and Displaced Persons in Serbia.”  This project is being financed by the European Union through the Delegation of the EU to the Republic of Serbia by means of IPA 2008 funds while the Commissariat for Refugees of the Republic of Serbia is to be the institution which is to utilize the Project.  UniCredit, a foundation based in Italy, supports the implementation of the program designed to support the development of sole proprietorships (self-employment).  The aim of the Project is, in accordance with the National Strategy for the resolution of the concerns of refugee and internally displaced persons, to offer its contribution to the efforts of the Republic of Serbia and the Commissariat for Refugees of the Republic of Serbia in improving the living conditions and resolving the socio-economic problems associated with this category of the citizenry.
