Thursday, June 16, 2011 – Vlajko Djordjević, the president of the Negotin municipality, Vladan Hadžić, the representative of The Commissariat for Refugees of the Republic of Serbia, Dane Surudžić, the Director of the Center for Social Welfare and Branislava Žarković, the director of Housing Center signed the Agreement on building 13 housing units for social housing in supportive environments. The purpose of these housing units is to provide sustainable housing solutions for 10 families of refugees and internally displaced persons and 3 socially vulnerable families in the municipality of Negotin.
This project that is worth 235,000 Euros is financed from the IPA 2009 fund and the municipality of Negotin participated in the project by providing 20,000 Euros, construction plot equipped with the necessary infrastructure.
The aforementioned project is designed to provide further support to the Municipality of Negotin and the Republic of Serbia in the process of integration of refugees and improvement of the living conditions of internally displaced persons accommodated in collective centers.
The beneficiaries of these housing units will be selected by a joint commission comprised of the representatives of the Commissariat for Refugees, the UNHCR, the Centre for Social Welfare of the Municipality of Negotin and the Housing Center.
