Wednesday, October 19, 2011 – the representatives of the Commissariat for Refugees of the Republic of Serbia, UNHCR and the City of Kraljevo ceremonially signed the Agreement on the construction of 20 housing units for social housing in supportive environment intended for refugees and IDPs accommodated within the collective center SE “Mataruška and Bogutovačka Banja“.

The construction of housing units represents a component of the Project “Improvement of living conditions and employment rights of refugees and displaced persons in Serbia”, financed by EU through IPA 2009. The Project will be implemented by UNHCR in cooperation with “Vizija” as an executive partner. The Commissariat for Refugees of the Republic of Serbia is the beneficiary institution. The City of Kraljevo provided the building lot along with the infrastructure.

The deadline for finalization of the building is September 30, 2012. Construction of the object will create conditions for closing the collective center SE “Mataruška and Bogutovačka Banja“ in Kraljevo.
