Ceremonial Commemoration of the 17th anniversary of the suffering of the Serbian people in the military-police operation

On Saturday the 4th of August 2012, a ceremony was held to mark 17 years since the military – police action "Storm." The ceremonnial commemoration was held in St. Mark`s church by His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej. The memorial service was attended by the family members of those who were either killed or missing, a large number of people who had left the Republic of Croatia during the operation, "Storm," as also the Commissioner for Refugees Vladimir Cucić.

As a reminder, during the operation launched by the Croatian army on the 4th of August 1995, some 200,000 Serbs were exiled from the Republic of Croatia into the Republic of Serbia, approximately 2,500 people were killed and more than 1,000 persons are missing until this day.
