Commissariat for Refugees and Migration, as an institution of the Republic of Serbia authorized to accept, care and integrate asylum seekers, has received full membership in the European network of asylum reception organizations (ENARO). ENARO network was established in 2002 and has twenty member countries, with the aim of exchanging experiences of reception of national agencies in the area.
Membership in the ENARO network will enable more employees at the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration to further improve the existing knowledge in the field of asylum, take the best practices and improve cooperation with colleagues from Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, the UK and Cyprus.
Through the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration, Republic of Serbia received the status of observer in the European Platform reception Authorities (EPRA) on May 2012, which work was conceived with the aim of sharing experiences and improving the strategic principles and asylum policy.
Bearing in mind that the further development and improvement of the system and asylum policy in the Republic of Serbia, is one of the main courses of action in the accession process of the Republic of Serbia to the European Union, the active participation of representatives of the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration in the initiative will contribute to the harmonization of national legislation in the field of asylum with the European Union and meeting internationally recognized standards in this area.
