Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia in cooperation with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), organized a two-day meeting with the municipal / city trustees for Refugees and Migration.

A meeting was held between 12-14th December 2012. , at Lepenski Vir, with the aim of further introductions of officers in charge of the new legislative framework in the field of migration management, new competencies and upcoming courses of action in this area. On that occasion, the most important documents  on migration was presented : Migration Profile in 2011, Study impact of demographic and migration impacts  in Republic of Serbia and the Manual for the integration of migrants in the Republic of Serbia.

 
During the meeting, the results of the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration were summarized in 2012 and the tasks for the next period were defined.

The most important part of the business of the meeting was devoted to preparations for the implementation of the Regional Housing Programme in Republic of Serbia as well as the needs of the refugees in local governments.

 
In addition to representatives of the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration, trustees and representatives of the 180 municipalities and cities, the meeting was attended by Stanko Janic, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and EU funds Croatia, as well as representatives of non-governmental and international organizations engaged in projects addressing the housing needs of refugees and internally displaced persons in Serbia.
