Traditional Eid al-Adha lunch was organized this year in centers for asylum in Bogovadja and Banja Koviljača. Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia strives to adapt housing conditions in the centers to cultural, family and religious needs and habits of accommodated beneficiaries. That’s why representatives of the Commissariat wished that asylum seekers, although thousands kilometers away from their homes, can enjoy the cosiness of the great Islamic holiday.
Representatives of the Commissariat first visited the Asylum center in Bogovadja. They brought packets of sweets and meat of the lamb, which is traditionally eaten on Eid al-Adha. After a prayer led by Mufti Kasim Zlatić asylum seekers accommodated in Bogovadja helped themselves to the traditional Eid al-Adha meals and desserts.
After Bogovadja, early in the evening the same ceremony was held at the Asylum Centre in Banja Koviljaca. Asylum seekers had dinner, then the prayer was held, after which packets of sweets were distributed to all of them.
Mufti Kasim Zlatić wished them inner peace and to reach the desired goals.
