53 projects of civil society organizations supported from the budget of the Republic of Serbia

Commissariat for Refugees and Migration funded during 2013. civil society organizations projects with 13 million RSD and thus supported 53 programs of organizations with the aim to improve the status of migrants.

The programs are funded, as in previous years, in line with the priorities: programs which have marked important dates; programs that are aimed at preserving the cultural identity of end-users; researches conducted to determine the needs of the migrant population with the aim of adequate design of future programs to enhance the status of this population; refugee programs to maintain contacts with their homeland; support of sustainable return and improving the socio-economic situation of the returnees; providing legal assistance for refugees, internally displaced persons and returnees under readmission agreement to be able to exercise their rights; reintegration programs for returnees under readmission agreement; to improve the dialogue to resolve outstanding issues and to establish good neighbor relations and cooperation; programs to preserve the memory of the suffering of the Serbian people.

Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia will continue cooperation with the NGO sector in the coming years. Funding in the budget of the Republic of Serbia for this purpose has already been allocated.
