Applying for housing in areas of special state concern is underway. It expires on 31 March 2014.

Requests may be submitted at the offices of the state administration in the counties authorized by the place in which housing is sought and to one of the following models of housing:

- lease family house or flat owned by the state,
- lease damaged family house owned by the state and the provision of building materials,
- donation of plot in state ownership and building materials to build a house, or
- donated building materials for reconstruction and upgrading of the family home or an apartment, or building a house on plot owned by the applicant.

Application must be accompanied by the following documents:

- a copy of a valid identity card or other identification document,
- certificate of residence for a period from 8 October 1991. till the time of application,
- certificate of relevant cadastral offices of non / possession of property,
- certificate of the competent municipal court that has / does not own real estate,
- confirmation of the competent tax office of real estate,
- certificate from the Ministry of Finance, Tax Administration, confirmation of the Croatian Institute for Pension Insurance, as well as other appropriate evidence of income in the previous year,
- certificate of competent jurisdiction that has not been prosecuted for criminal offenses against the Republic of Croatia till the validity of the court’s decision.

For the purposes of proceedings, the applicant is required to submit for him and all family members applying for housing and other necessary documentation at the request of the competent authorities of the state administration in the county.
