Beate Merk, Minister for European and regional relations of the German state of Bavaria, accompanied by a delegation, visited the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia.
Topics of the meeting were illegal migration, Serbia as a safe country of origin, the reintegration of returnees/deportees, asylum-seekers from third countries.
The meeting was opened by Vladimir Cucić, Commissioner for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia, after which the guests were informed about the work of the Commissariat and the migratory flows in Serbia.
Serbian and German representatives shared their experiences in the field of migration and concluded that the current cooperation between the two countries takes place in a good way, and that there is room for improvement.
