Nils Muižnieks, Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe, Nikolaos Sitaropoulos, deputy director of the Office of the Commissioner and Erliha Bičakčić, advisor, were yesterday for a  working visit to the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia.

Duties of the Commissioner include issues related to vulnerable population groups, with special emphasis on the Roma, refugees and internally displaced persons.

Topics discussed during the meeting were the status of refugees and internally displaced persons, the treatment of asylum seekers in the Republic of Serbia, as well as the progress in the implementation of the Regional Housing Program.
