Commissariat for refugees and migration provided donations for migrants

Since the beginning of 2015, the number of migrants from Africa and Asia, who are going toward Western Europe through Serbia, has been constantly growing up.

The Government of the Republic of Serbia recognized the importance of this issue, as in june formed Working Group for the Solving of the Problems of the Mixed Migration Flows chaired by Mr Aleksandar Vulin, minister of labour, employment, veteran and social policy, which members are also Nebojša Stefanović, Minister of Interior, Bratislav Gašić, Defense Minister, Zlatibor Lončar, Minister of Health, Jadranka Joksimović, Minister without portfolio in charge of EU integration of Serbia and Vladimir Cucić, Commissioner for Refugees and Migration.

Reception centers are opened to assist migrants. But at the same time, the need for food, water, medicines and all other forms of assistance increased.

Commissariat for Refugees and Migration has managed to provide assistance in collaboration with reliable long-term partners and made sure that it gets where is needed and to avoid overlapping.

The amount of money spent from the budget, as well as donations, is constantly growing. From the first of July to present some of the grants are as follows:

- International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) provided funds for the purchase of necessary equipment for equipping kitchens and bakeries of the Red Cross Bujanovac; two-month amount of briquettes for the needs of bakery RC Bujanovac; immediate repair of water infrastructure; a partially equipped kitchen and minor repairs for the RC Belgrade Centre in Bogovađa.

- Arbeiter- Samariter- Bund Deutschland (ASB) - rental of sanitary containers and toilets.

- Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA)- food and hygiene packages, ready-made meals

- Initiative for development and cooperation (IDC)-  rental of sanitary containers and toilets.

- Catholic Relief Services (CRS) – fabrication, installation and rental of containers with eight beds, eight nightstands, six toilets, six showers and four sinks, bedding sets, 100 towels and additional staff.

- Danish Refugee Council (DRC)- food cans and human resources, fencing and editing of the channel in the centre of Kanjiža, containers and garbage cans, children`s playground…

- United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees- playground for children, food, furniture and household appliances, containers for offices and doctors, blankets and quilts.

- Caritas Vienna- food, hygiene items, packages for babies and containers with showers and toilets

- Serbian- Russian Humanitarian Center- tents, beds and blankets

- The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS)- office furniture

- Office for civil protection- mats for sleeping

- Delhaize Serbia- bottled water

- Caritas Luxembourg- food packages

- Fund for an Open Society- three translators

- Philanthropy, The Charitable fund of the Serbian Orthodox Church- disinfectants

- ProCredit Bank – bottled water;

- Health Center in Vranje – dry milk for babies;

-SOS Children`s Villages- full-time engaged nurse in Kanjiža
