The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) has been actively assisting Serbia since the beginning of increased influx of migrants through the cooperation with Commissariat for Refugees and Migration. That aid includes financial and covers procurement of equipment for reception centres and meeting the basic needs of migrants, as well as transfer of experience and knowledge of Swiss experts in the field of migration.

One stop Centre in Preševo was provided with dinning furniture and complete kitchen equipment. Respectively, 100 metal double beds, 200 mattress, 100 bedside cupboard and 200 bedding sets, blankets and pillows, within the aid package worth more than 55.000 CHF, which has been provided by the Swiss Government for the need of equipping the One Stop Centre in Preševo. Through the project "Support to the National Coordination for Reintegration of Returnees- Stage II", which is implemented by the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration,  in the previous period, One stop centre in Presevo has been equipped also with computer equipment, floodlights, a generator and hand tools required for the maintenance of Centre.

Provided aid to the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration, through the project mentioned above is only a part of the aid which Swiss Government pledge for Serbia, in order to successfully meet the challenges that arise as a result of increased influx of migrants. The total budget of the project is 600.000 CHF.

The cooperation between Serbia and Switzerland in the field of migration was set up in 2009. On behalf of the Swiss State Secretariat for Migration (SEM), the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) implements projects in the field of migration management and support for migrants within the migration partnership established with Serbia and other countries in the Balkans. The Commissariat for Refugees and Migration is one of the key partners within the successful migration partnership.
