Press release of the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration

Belgrade, 21 January 2016 - Commissariat for Refugees and Migration, in cooperation with other institutions of the Republic of Serbia, has managed to provide sufficient capacity to accommodate migrants passing through the Republic of Serbia.

We are well aware of the weather conditions and we will not allow anyone to get frostbites due to lack of adequate certificate or because it expired.

Regardless of the fact that a number of migrants were not asylum seekers and their stay is no longer legal, we enabled them stay in accommodation centers for asylum seekers, because the actual weather conditions and temperatures below zero for the people coming from these regions are extreme.

None of them will be left without shelter and food while the weather conditions improve and another solution is found.
