U.S. Sen. McCain with a Congressional delegation had visited One Stop Centre at Sid on Friday, 12 February 2016.
The High Level Delegation visited One Stop Centre "Adasevci", where they were met and welcomed by Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, Aleksandar Vulin, and Commissioner for Refugees and Migration, Vladimir Cucic.
After the visit to "Adasevci" and conversation with some of the migrants, the Delegation visited the refugee center at the train station in Sid, where they were welcomed by the Minister of Interior, Nebojsa Stefanovic, and introduced to the security aspects of the functioning of the reception centers for migrants.
Senator McCain stated that he will ask U.S. Government to provide additional help to Serbia in dealing with the refugee crisis. He said more help is necessary, describing the refugee crisis as "very expensive." "We will be returning and asking our colleagues to vote for additional assistance which is obviously needed," McCain said. McCain praised the Serbian government for doing "an excellent job in difficult circumstances."
