Under the Programme “EU Assistance to Migrants and Refugees in Serbia”, funded by the European union through the EU Delegation to the Republic of Serbia, Danish Refugee Council adapted three pavilions and three studios within the Centre for asylum in Krnjaca, increasing accommodation capacity for additional 188 persons in the pavilions and 9 persons in the studios.
Reconstruction works worth 104,900 EUR started in January 2016 and have been successfully finalised in March. The works included renovation of floors, walls, doors, windows, roofs, sanitary blocks, electrical installations and radiators. Additionally, 94 bunk beds were delivered to the Centre last week, including mattresses, blankets, pillows and bedclothes.
Complementary minor shelter works were performed in the Centre premises by the Danish Refugee Council thanks to the synergy with DFID/Start Network funding.
