In the period from 11 to 13 May 2016, within the twinning project "Support to the national asylum system in the Republic of Serbia" (Component 3 - Development of appropriate and timely support mechanisms for the integration of persons granted international protection in the Republic of Serbia), representatives of the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration visited the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia.

This component involves the examination and identification of all existing sources of information that are important for the development of the integration strategy in the Republic of Serbia, as well as adequate support system for the integration of persons granted international protection in the Republic of Serbia.
Representatives of the Commissariat visited the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, the Asylum Centre in Ljubljana, the integration house in Maribor, as well as the two institutions specialized for learning of the Slovenian language for persons with international protection.
During a conversation with a counsellor for integration, which is employed in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, representatives of the Commissariat were acquainted with the program of integration of persons with international protection.
Familiarization with the the entire system of asylum, as well as the integration of persons with international protection in the Republic of Slovenia, was crucial to the representatives of the Commissariat, given that the Commissariat in accordance with the Law on asylum is responsible for housing and the provision of basic living conditions for persons seeking asylum till decision on their request, as well as for the integration of persons with international protection.
