In the Belgrade City Hall contract to build 235 apartments in Ovča for refugees within the third sub-project of the Regional Housing Programme was signed. The works will start in late August, and moving in is expected in 14 months, said Mayor Mr. Siniša Mali.
Trilateral agreement was signed by Mr. Luka Petrović, Director of the Agency for Investment and Construction of the City of Belgrade, Mr. Goran Kvrgić, Director of Project Management Unit Ltd. And Mr. Jelenko Jeremić on behalf of the construction company "Zlatibor-gradnja" doo. The signing was attended by Mr. Sinisa Mali, Mayor of Belgrade, Mr. Vladimir Cucić, Commissioner for Refugees and Migration and Ms. Nataša Stanisavljević, City Secretary for social protection.
"Construction works are speeding up. A month ago, in this same City Hall, we handed over contracts for the purchase of 69 village houses. Before that contracts were signed for the construction of 270 apartments in Kamendin, and today for the construction of 235 apartments in Ovča. I am very glad that this City government is determined to get the job done, we have a good synergy that led to such success that we have in Belgrade. We will not give up until the job is done, "said Commissioner Cucić.
Belgrade Mayor Sinisa Mali said that the city authorities will monitor the works in Ovča "day by the day" and that the bills will be paid on time. He recalled that the City of Belgrade in this project provides an equipped land in terms of infrastructure, and expressed hope that construction will be completed before the deadline.
PIU Director Goran Kvrgić underlined that the PIU will do its best to bring the job successfully to an end.
