The representatives of the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration, local councils for migration and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) were in a study visit to Germany from 11 to 15 October 2016, in order to familiarize with the best practices of integration of migrants, with special focus on the local level.
The visit was organized within the framework of the IOM/UNDP Global Joint Programme on “Mainstreaming Migration into National Development Strategies” financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. The Commissariat for Refugees and Migration has implemented the pilot project "Strengthening the capacities of the local migration councils."
The aim of the visit was to acquaint members of the Serbian delegation with institutional and legal framework with regard to the integration of asylum seekers and the different types of measures and programs to achieve this.
Serbian representatives visited during the first and second day of study visit Berlin State Office for Refugee Matters, Employment agency, Reception center Tempelhof, Office of the Commissioner of the Berlin Senate for Integration and Migration, Ministry of Interior – Division for Legal Issues and Integration Measures.
During the third day of the study visit Serbian delegation paid visits in Nuremberg to the Chamber of Commerce IHK FOSA, as well as Federal Office for Migration and Refugees – Division for Integration, Language Courses and Political Education.
