The Commissariat for Refugees and Migration, in the framework of the project "Mainstreaming migration into national development strategies", implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, organized on 27 and 28 July 2017 a workshop with the topic “Collection of data for the development of the Migration Profile of the Republic of Serbia.”
The workshop was attended by representatives of relevant institutions (Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, National Employment Service and Cabinet of Minister without a portfolio in charge of demography and population policy) involved in the development of this document which consolidates data on all categories of migrants in the country.
The Commissariat for Refugees and Migration for the seventh year in a row creates a Migration Profile. Precise data are necessary in order to plan and take appropriate measures for the purpose of comprehensive management of migration flows. In addition to providing an overview of all migrant data and serving as a means of monitoring migration flows and trends in the country, the Migration Profile seeks to identify and analyze key migration challenges.
