The Prime Minister handed over the citizenship to the family of Farhad Noori

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, in the presence of the Minister of Interior Nebojsa Stefanovic, the Commissioner for Refugees and Migration, Vladimir Cucic, and the city manager Goran Vesic, handed the citizenship of the Republic of Serbia to Farhad Noori and his family. The 11 year old Farhad became known as a small Picasso from Afghanistan, who donated the money from selling his drawings to help a sick Serbian boy.

"It is a great pleasure for me to be able to give citizenship on behalf of the Government of Serbia to this wonderful family who fled from an unfortunate situation that had nothing to do with them. I am glad that Serbia has shown a human face during a migrant crisis. This is a very emotional day for us and we are happy that they like Serbia, " the Prime Minister said.

Commissioner Cucić said that obtaining citizenship is the most important step for this family and a prerequisite for further integration. Upon receiving the citizenship, Farhad’s brothers received a football and basketball, while the Little Picasso got a sketch book and drawing accessories.
