Assistant Commissioner for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia Ivan Gerginov discussed migration challenges and integration of refugees as a guest lecturer at the prestigious University of Notre Dame in the United States.
Notre Dame students of social studies had the opportunity to learn about various refugee and migration crises affecting the Western Balkans since 1992 and the aspects of present migration situation. Assistant Commissioner Gerginov also shared the vast experiences of the Commissariat for Refugees and Migraiton in this domain. Moreover, he was open to answer the students’s questions and meet with distinguished members of academia, namely Scott Appleby, Dean of the University of Notre Dame’s Keough School of Global Affairs, Director and Reverend John J. Cavanaugh, C.S.C., Professor of Humanities, William Collins Donahue, Antony Monta, Deputy Director of the Nanovic Institute for European Studies, Agustin Fuentes, Chair of the Notre Dame Anthropology Department as well as professor Maurizio Albahari.
