International Migrants Day marked in RC Obrenovac

Migrant schoolers visited the Faculty of Chemistry in Belgrade
In the organization of the IOM and the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration, migrant schoolers from AC Krnjaca visited the Faculty of Chemistry in Belgrade. Students - hosts told the children basic facts about chemistry and the history of faculties in Serbia. In the end, they demonstrated experiments with chemical reactions. Iraqi girl came second in a Sombor city race
The seven-year-old girl from Iraq, Anurin Askar was very successful during a City Cross in Sombor last weekend. She came second and won a silver medal at the running competition held on Saturday, October 20, 2018. Amandments signed for additional 135 housing solutions under the 5th subproject of RHP
Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimovic signed two amendments to agreements under the Regional Housing Programme which will provide housing solutions for another 135 refugee families from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia who fled to Serbia during the 1990s. Eid al-Adha celebrated in all the asylum and reception centers
Throughout the recepetion and asylum centers in Serbia celebrations devoted to Eid al-Adha, one of the greatest Islamic holidays, traditionaly took place in the presence of local imams. Morning prayers were held and migrants were also enabled to pray in nearby mosques, wherever possible.  In some centers, Eid al-Adha was celebrated with lunch, in other with formal dinner, while traditional desserts such as baklava, urmasice and tulumba were served in all the centers. ... more

Eleven migrant children from the reception centers in Sid participated in a circus performance organized by the Swiss circus group Lolipop. Significant progress in construction of apartments in Ovča
Work on the construction of 235 apartments for refugees in the Belgrade suburb Ovča has made a significant progress. Construction workers in the site are working at full speed. Three barracks reconstructed at the Asylum Center in Krnjača
The Center for asylum in Krnjača opened three reconstructed barracks, with the capacities for 200 migrants. The capacities are being expanded and reconstructed  in oder to be ready for the upcoming winter in case of prolonged staying of migrants in Serbia. Food distribution for the most vulnerable groups

Romania has donated significant humanitarian aid to Serbia to help care for migrants. Opening of one stop center in Presevo
One stop center for migrants was opened yesterday in the town of Presevo. In this center migrants are provided with the appropriate documents, food, emergency medical care and a place to rest. On the 1st November 2012, in the territory of the Republic of Serbia there are 33 collective centers which accommodate 2.697 individuals. The training exercises will focus on imparting to those in attendance lessons and valuable experience as concerns the topics of business management, IT (computer skills) and crafts.

After several attempts and deferments, the Roma families living in the unhygienic settlement under the “Gazela” bridge in Novi Beograd, have been displaced today without any incidents. New apartments in Kraljevo for two hundred displaced persons
Yesterday, after ten years of “temporary” living in two collective centres in Mataruška Banja, Ljubiša Simović, the mayor of Kraljevo handed over 48 keys of apartment to 38 families, into which around two hundred displaced persons, who have been displaced from Kosovo and Metohija in the 1990’s, have moved. A new home for Vujinovic family in Elemir
After 16 years of life in displacement, a seven-member  family Vujinovic, which fled from Mostar in 1992, settled down in Elemir.
